Reflections on Aerial Dance during confinement

aerial dance exhibition

March 25th,

we understand that the confinement will last for a few more weeks.

A mixture of feelings that are jostling in our heads, our hearts, our bodies!

I try to take advantage of this time to share knowledge, tools for thinking and daydreaming…

Last week, Shannon McKenna‘s podcast was in the spotlight.

Today, I would like to present to you the  Aerial Dance exhibition.

There is currently a real interest for aerial disciplines, techniques at the crossroads of contemporary circus, dance but also climbing, what is Aerial Dance ?

Where does this movement come from ?

To see all the exhibition you can go to our gallerie !

History of Aerial Dance

aerial dance book

Aerial Dance first recognized in the United States in the 1970s.

One of the first choreographers to utilize what we now think of as Aerial Dance was Trisha Brown.

One book to learn more : Aerial Dance written by Jayne C. Bernasconi and Nancy E. Smith.

Nancy E. Smith is the artistic director of Frequent Flyers. She organizes an Aerial Dance Festival in Boulder, Colorado, USA each summer.

Aerial Dance : aerial silk, danse trapeze, rope, cocons, hoop, vertical dance.

Have a nice visit… We keep connected ! Fred Deb’
