La Volière
A place dedicated to new circus and aerial dance
In 2020, La Volière opened its doors — the culmination of a project led by Fred Deb’ over several years. Fred thus became artistic director of the venue, based in Saint-Nazaire (44).

At once an artistic workshop, a laboratory for social connection, a platform for exchange and a resource center, this unifying project offers a setting conducive to creation, learning and reflection on contemporary circus. La Volière stands out for its plural approach, offering diverse perspectives — pedagogical, artistic, intellectual, cultural and economic.

La Volière, a unifying venue
A setting conducive to creation, learning and reflection
A center of gravity for new artistic writing in the field, La Volière supports professionals and contributes to structuring the industry. Beyond its thematic ecosystem, the venue aims to bring together local dynamics around a shared living space, where physical and artistic practices meet, where movement exploration and choreographic expression come together, while paying particular attention to vertical and suspension-based aesthetics and forms of expression.

Based in Saint-Nazaire, La Volière embodies a committed vision: that of an artistic and cultural venue resonating with the social changes taking place in its region. It champions culture that is accessible to all, in keeping with cultural rights and the inclusion of underserved audiences, using circus as a lever for social cohesion while addressing the challenges of structuring the industry, from the local to the international level.
